BIOGRAPHY

No Bare Feet was a Pop-Punk band from the islands of Hawaii, that was co-formed by my uncle, Adrian Estrella, who now sings for Zebrahead, and previously, Assuming We Survive.Quoted from No Bare Feet's official website: No Bare Feet formed on the little island of Oahu, Hawaii. Brothers, Matt & Josh Baker along with good friend Trevor Jackson teamed up with Adrian Estrella to form No Bare Feet in early January of 03'.Radio stations soon took notice in that and paired NBF up with bands such as SUM 41, HOOBASTANK, and SLIGHTLY STOOPID when they came to town. These radio stations liked NBF so much the guys found themselves on the air quite a bit with Hawaii's top DJ's spinning NBF's music. They had played many shows around the islands and were featured on various calender sites like 808shows.com, that displayed their old show dates!

8th Grade Teacher

8th Grade Teacher is a 15-track album released in 2005 that featured the sounds of that classic Y2K Punk Rock sound, with a deep overtone of Hawaiian energy and teen angst. The Album was produced by Cameron Webb, whom had previously produced records for Motorhead, Sum 41, and Social Distortion. The Album was recorded in Orange County, CA.The album was the first and last piece of music NBF released and would go on to be reuploaded onto YouTube through archive channels and be released onto Spotify and Apple Music through "Hawaiian Express" a Hawaiian punk record label that featured two No Bare Feet classics, '8th Grade Teacher' and 'Our Song' on volumes 1 and 2 of their annual release of "Hawaiian Punk:

Direct Rock CD

Somewhere between 2003-2005 No Bare Feet recorded an unnamed demo CD that contained 6 tracks. One of these songs was released through Hawaiian Express in 2008, called "Our Song". Along with it, 3 of them were songs never previously released, and 2 of them were actually demo versions of their album releases, "Your Freedom" and "Can I Say". The early Can I Say demo actually has different lyrics. The official release of the track has lyrics about love and charishment, yet this demo is completely different; In this CD Adrian sings about someone's girlfriend leaving them for a gay man and how embarassing it is!
Likewise, though the early demo of Your Freedom has the same lyrics as its official release, the tempo is slowed down, and the lyrics in the bridge before the last chorus is slightly different

But by far the outstanding highlight of this find, was the clue that came with it; much like a classic Scooby Doo mystey, the CD acually came with an old sticker attached to the blank side that reads "No Bare Feet - Directrock.com". Naturally, I took this clue to the Wayback Machine, and sure enough found an ecrypted crawl from 2003 for the first, original No Bare Feet website! Although, much of the site was gone by the hand of digital decay or "Internet Rot", I found actual photos of the band from Aptil 2003! There were only 4, however, even just one image is more than I expect! These images show the singer, my Uncle Adrian, who appears in 3 of the 4, Matt or "Mathy" Baker on Rhythm Guitar in the second image, and Josh Baker on Bass in the third image!
And of course one of the funniest images I've seen is the last one, Adrian sticking his head out of a trashcan! -Soo funny!

Live Performance Photos

Among other things, a new and exciting addtion to the archive is this new set of photographs! They were taken at a show somewhere between 2003 and 2004 -The early days of NBF! Their debut album, 8th Grade Teacher was not out yet and many of the songs they were playing were stuff off of the Directrock CD!
